Coastal Walk and Talk - April 2023
ABM site tour ‘walk and talk’ of the newly installed nature-based defense structures at The Dell, Clifton Springs.

Alex Goad | Director / Industrial Designer, Reef Design Lab - Industry leader in nature-based methods - international, national and local examples of nature-based approaches to coastal protection
Dr Rebecca Morris | Program Lead Eco-engineering, National Centre for Coasts and Climate, University of Melbourne - Research program monitoring the effectiveness and applicability of nature based approaches in Port Phillip Bay, and across Australia.
Ralph Roob | Strategic Coastal Planner, Greater Geelong City Council - Local council perspective - from concept to implementation including engagement within council and with local communities.
Field Trip: Following the presentations there will be short walk down to The Dell foreshore via a boardwalk. From the foreshore guests have the option of walking into the water to see the nature-based defense structures up close noting it is low tide 0.2-0.3m at this time.
This event is a partnership initiative of the Association of Bayside Municipalities and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.
