Over the last year we've been busy creating a new strategic plan for the next four years. This plan builds on the work of the past 50 years while defining a unified future for ABM members.

Planning started in September 2024 with a member to reconsider ABM’s purpose and strategic priorities. This was a timely chance to reflect, falling on the day of our 50th anniversary celebrations.

In May 2025, building on the previous workshop, an independent consultant led a strategic governance review. Members provided input into our strategic priorities for the next four years and suggested governance improvements.

The Executive Committee used the outcomes to develop a draft Strategic Plan. This was presented to members in an online webinar. Members provided feedback to incorporate into the final version.

In September 2025 ABM members endorsed the ABM Strategic Plan 2025–29.

This is just the start. Our Executive Committee met in December 2025 to plan how we will implement the plan over the next four years.
