ABM Project
Past project
Managing Better Now
The ABM commissioned a series of reports focused on data, modelling and analysis of coastal processes in Port Phillip Bay including sea level rise, wave climate and storm bite.
The Managing Better Now program is an initiative of the Association of Bayside Municipalities. Launched in 2013, the program aimed to improve understanding of the coastal processes, present and future risks and hazards in Port Phillip Bay using data modelling and analysis.
Outputs from the Managing Better Now program support better decision making, clearer investment, management and planning by ABM Member Councils and other bay stakeholders in:
- beach protection,
- local coastal hazard and risk assessment,
- foreshore and infrastructure management,
- maintenance planning and response to weather extremes, and
- coastal climate adaptation.
